Their skin has not changed yet. Their eyes have. The hierophant reads aloud from a book that rewrites itself between sentences; the acolyte swings a censer that smokes without fire; the zealot raises a blade she does not remember picking up; the assassin waits in the dark for whoever comes asking questions.
