Goliath Barbarians: 32mm Half-Giant Raiders, Set of 3 RPG Miniatures

Three of them is already more than most parties can handle.

These are giant-blooded raiders, and the sculpts sell it on silhouette alone. They stand a clear head above a 28mm figure, with the reach to match. Each wears the same bull-horned faceplate, which is the detail that makes them read as one warband rather than three unrelated models: identical helms, three completely different fighters underneath. The first plants himself wide and carries a broad single-bladed axe low at his side, mail skirt over a bare chest. The second is caught mid-charge with a foot off the ground, a heavy club swung out ahead of him. The third stands in a loose fighting crouch under a heavy hood with a straight sword in hand. All three carry a deliberately open second hand. That is sculpted intent, not a missing part, and it reads as a grab, a shove or a shield-snatch, giving each pose a second beat of movement.

A Set With Real Variety: The Lion’s Tower resisted the usual temptation to give three big men three big axes. Axe, club and sword give you a heavy hitter, a bruiser and a duellist, so the unit fights differently depending on which one your players engage first. For painters, the shared faceplate is a gift. Work out one metal recipe and one horn recipe and it carries across all three, leaving you free to differentiate them with hide, mail and cloth. The mail skirt on the axeman in particular takes a heavy wash and a light drybrush better than almost anything else in this size.

In wargaming they slot in as an elite three-model unit that punches above its model count, and because the poses are distinct, they break apart cleanly into three named NPCs rather than three copies of the same encounter.
